Old Ide Hard
I need files from my old IDE hard drive/ Partition?
I have a new pc now, and apparently the old ide hard drive wasn't compatible. He said I need some kind of enclosure that's an extension which turns IDE into USB. How does this work? How much is this extension? Is there any other ways to transfer files? (note I don't have another pc, just the old IDE hd)

You need the IDE/ATA one at the bottom of the list.
To partition insert the CD in the CD drive, reboot and follow directions.
As to other ways, you could set the jumper on that drive to slave or cable select , install it in the new computer on the center connection of the drive ribbon cable as long as your new HD isn't SATA connected (if it is then use the end connection of the CD ribbon cable w/ it set as master and the CD in the middle set as slave, or both the old drive and the CD set as cable select and reversed), make sure CMOS settings sees the new(old HDD) slave too, then it would show up as just storage space (D: Drive), but you'd have acces to you My Documents folder, then just copy/paste away. From Drive D: to drive C:...you wouldn't be able to acces Windows on D: as a slave though, just the "My Documents File Folder, k?
